The Gerroa based 19-year-old mega star was always destined for a successful
sporting career.
Fitzgibbon has established herself as one the world’s best up-and-comers,
taking out the ISA World Titles and the ASP World Junior Championship.
Sassy Sally hit the surfing circuit in the World Qualifying Series (WQS) in the
hope that she would be able to secure a spot on the 2009 ASP World Tour. Sally
did just that. She was the fastest surfer ever, man or woman to qualify for the
following year’s ASP
World Tour after she claimed a string of massive results in the first half of
the year.
Sally’s first year competing against the sports elite had it’s ups and
downs but she still managed a top five finish that included a runner up spot in
the final of the Gidget Pro at Sunset Beach.
“A top five finish for a rookie is rare, Sal would have taken some valuable
lessons from her rookie season and after getting familiar with some of the waves
on tour she’ll be a threat this year, her surfing is definitely world

After a strong rookie year Sal will go into the 2010 season well prepared and
ready to challenge three-time-world champ Steph Gilmore and a long list of other
worthy contenders.
