Lleyton Hewitt says re-election of Tennis Australia chief bad for the game

There has been a lot of talk lately about the lack of interest in Tennis and Lleyton Hewitt has decided to jump on the bandwagon and express his frustration about the re-election of Geoff Pollard.

Hewitt hoped by voicing his opinion it would change the interest towards Tennis for players and fans.

"We need someone who is strong ... to make the decisions in the best interest of our sport and that starts with the president of the federation,'' he proclaimed.

Despite his country's glittering tennis tradition, Hewitt, ranked No.20, is one of only two Australians in the top 100 alongside the little-known Peter Luczak, currently at 83.

Hewitt had openly called for Pollard’s ousting as head of Tennis Australia, a position he has held since 1989. There this remark that he made about the chief of tennis might prove to be quite controversial during the Tennis season. We hope that this won’t affect his game.

“At the moment the only way forward for Tennis is a change and you have to start with the top. It is very important for Tennis to realise and where the sport is headed and they need to make changes quickly before this occurs.”

We now open the forum to all you ladies and maybe even men out there reading this and would love to here your thoughts and opinions  about this HOT topic in the lead up to the Australian Open.
